What is Tech Prep?

Tech Prep programs are community wide partnerships
between school districts, community colleges, and business/industry to
prepare students for technical and career fields.

Tech Prep strengthens the academic preparation of
each student by combining classroom and workplace experiences.

Tech Prep uses career counseling to provide students
with a greater awareness of choices influencing their future. It blends
academic and technical education.

Tech Prep teaches a set of core competencies in math,
science, communications and technology that can lead to an associate degree
or a one or two-year certificate in specific career area with flexibility to
continue on to a more advanced degree.
Who is a Tech Prep
Student?
A Tech Prep student is any learner
with a Educational Development Plan (EDP) demonstrating their selection of a
series of courses and career activities at the high school and college levels.
This series of courses and activities is designed to prepare the student to
enter, compete and advance in a global workforce.
Articulation Agreements
Articulation agreements are formal, written
documents agreed upon by two or more institutions. RHS has an
articulation agreement with Henry Ford Community College. Students may
receive college credit for courses taken in high school. Some of the student
